Microsoft Windows 10 Anniversary Update Release Date Confirmed on August 2

Microsoft is expected to release a refreshed update to Windows 10 on August 2. Earlier, there were rumors that the update will be released on the first anniversary date. In November, Microsoft released a significant update with Skype-based messaging apps, features for business and some visual tweaks.

The upcoming Windows 10 updates brings in new features, which includes addition of enhanced features for Cortana. You will be able to request Cortana for assistance when your devices are locked including the ability to extend the assistant’s usefulness and matching competitors.

Microsoft also made significant updates to its Microsoft Edge browser with focus on energy efficiency. According to Microsoft, the new update is designed to provide three hours longer than Google Chrome. You will be able to add extensions to the browser, starting with a small group that includes Pinterest’s pinning button.

With new Windows 10 Anniversary update, you will be able to sign in with your own faces on certain websites that provide support for Microsoft’s facial recognition technology. The update will have more additional notifications from Windows Defender.

You can also expect enhanced support for the stylus, with a Windows Ink suite that gives users more places throughout the system to use the pen.

If you are a gamer, you can expect additional support for Xbox Play Anywhere, which allows gamers to access the same games on the Xbox One and any Windows 10 device.
