Lenovo Zuk Edge with Snapdragon 821 processor and 6GB RAM launched: Features, specifications and price

Lenovo has launched Zuk Edge smartphone in China with Snapdragon 821 processor and 6GB RAM starting CNY 2299 in Ceramic White and Titanium Crystal Black color variants. Recently, the Chinese-based smartphone manufacturing company had teased the renders of the Zuk Edge smartphone.

During the launch event, Lenovo disclosed that the new Zuk Edge handset will be available for sale from January 1. The 4GB RAM variant will be available at CNY 2299, which is approximately Rs. 22500. However, you will have to pay CNY 2499 for the 6GB RAM variant.

The main attraction of the Zuk Edge is the integration of Snapdragon 821 processor with a clock speed of 2.35GHz. On the specifications front, the Lenovo Zuk Edge features a 5.5-inch FHD TDDI Corning Gorilla Glass protected display. The display panel is equipped with an 86.4 percent screen-to-body ratio.

With an non-expandable internal storage of 64GB, the Zuk Edge provides support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and A- GPS. A 3100mAh battery completes the package.

Lenovo Zuk Edge also ships with USB Type-C port alongside under-glass U Touch fingerprint sensor. The scanner provides an ability to unlock the phone within 0.09 seconds.

The rear camera features a 13MP 1.34-micron pixel Samsung ISOCELL sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The sensor also provides support for PDAF+CAF hybrid autofocus including an enhanced flash with extra brightness. Coming to the front-facing snapper, the handset offers an 8MP 1.12-micron pixel sensor paired with f/2.2 aperture.

Interestingly, the Zuk Edge handsets is integrated with blood oxygen heart rate sensor. Some of the other important features are addition of a pneumatic altimeter and a UV light sensor. Talking about the software front, the Lenovo Zuk Edge is loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat based ZUI 2.5.

With a thickness of 7.68mm and weight of 160 grams, the Lenovo Zuk Edge offers support for accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.

It remains to be seen as to when Lenovo launches Zuk Edge in India. We expect the launch of the handset in India by the end of Q1 2017.
