If rumors are to be believed, Huawei Mate 9 is expected to feature Kirin 960 chipset with octa-core CPU and will be equipped with 20MP dual camera setup on the rear. The upcoming Kirin 960 is expected to be much better than Kirin 950, featuring the still unannounced ARM’s Artemis cores and an octa-core architecture.
Based on the rumored camera specification of 20MP dual rear camera setup, the Huawei Mate 9 will be comparable to the dual 12MP cameras included with the P9 and P9 plus devices.
On the connectivity segment, the Kirin 960 chip is expected to provide support for Cat. 12 LTE speeds as well as CDMA networks. Hence, Huawei Mate 9 will be the first true full netcom chipset from the company. Users will be able to experience impressive graphics performance since Mate 9 will feature an upgraded octa-core GPU setup.
It is expected that Leica will play a key role in the Huawei Mate 9 and the device is expected to be launched in Q4 2016.
