Lenovo is expected to launch a Cyanogen OS-powered smartphone with the name – Lenovo Zuk Z1 in India and it seems that Cyanogen-Yu exclusive deal doesn’t exist. Previously, Yu had released a series of smartphones with Cyanogen OS.
Commenting on the development, Anuj Sharma, Head of Product Marketing – Lenovo had confirmed that the upcoming Lenovo Zuk Z1 will be equipped with Cyanogen 12.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
To be available exclusively via online, the Zuk Z1 will be running Cyanogen 12.1 out-of-the-box and will be released during May 2016.
With the upcoming release of Lenovo Zuk Z1, Micromax’s Yu will no longer be the only brand launching Cyanogen OS-powered handsets out-of-the-box in India.
Meanwhile, Yu had declined to comment on the new development and disclosed that the company will comment as and when the time is appropriate.
Sharma, however, confirmed that Lenovo will launch a 64GB variant of the Z1 in India. We expect that the pricing of Lenovo’s 64GB Zuk Z1 will be around Rs. 18250 (CNY 1799).
You should note that this is the price for which Lenovo is currently selling the device in China. Sharma also hinted at a possibility of an aggressive pricing strategy to beat the competitors.
This phone seems to be the best high end smartphone at average price. Also the specification and high memory is a perk point of Zuk Z1.
