Smartron has launched a new smartphone named tphone featuring a 5.5-inch display and Android Marshmallow at Rs. 22999. The company launched the smartphone in a bid to expand the product base of its technological ecosystem, ‘tronx’. The ‘tphone’ was launched by Sachin Tendulkar and Telangana Minister for Information Technology KT. Rama Rao at a function held in Tuesday.
Touted as totally designed and engineered in India, Mahesh Lingareddy, Founder-Chairman of Smartron revealed that the company is migrate is manufacturing plant to India soon. The company has already talked with Foxconn to migrate manufacturing to India. Currently, Smartron manufactures about 10000 phones in China. Lingareddy disclosed that the company is committed to manufacture smartphones from India itself under Make in India initiative.
On the specifications side, the Smartron tphone is equipped with a 5.5-inch display, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, octacore CPU and 4GB RAM loaded with Android Marshmallow operating system. The company stated that the tphone aims to tap the seamless connectivity among wide range of devices and electronic goods.
Earlier, the company launched a laptop named ‘tbook’ with excellent specifications, which closely resembles Surface Pro at Rs. 39999. Lingareddy also diclosed plans to launch the tphone smartphone in Middle East, Russia and South East Asia
Responding to media, Sachin Tendulkar revealed that smartphones have made life easier by increasing accessibility of people constantly on the move. In future, we can see a plethora of smartphones which controls the life and homes with Internet of Things.
Tendulkar, meanwhile, disclosed that the tphone is completely engineered and designed in India even though manufactured outside India.
On behalf of Telengana government, Rama Rao assured his complete to the company and expressed hope that more globally competitive products will emerge from the city-based ventures.
