Flipkart Online Gaming Championship Announced

Flipkart has announced that the company is conducting a month long gaming tournament featuring FIFA, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, and Dota 2. Touted as the Flipkart Online Gaming Championship (FGOC), the gaming event will take place online. Moreover, it will be live streamed on Amazon-owned Twitch from June 3 to July 11.

Commenting on the development, Adarsh K Menon, Vice President, Electronics and Auto, Flipkart revealed that gaming is considered as one of the key pillars of Internet economy and is growing rapidly in India across all metros. Flipkart has been witnessing a growth of 50 percent in this category since last six months.

Noticeably, the PS4 exclusive Uncharted 4 game sold 4500 units on Amazon and 1500 on Flipkart, thus exposing the true color of gaming in India.

We established contact with Flipkart but they refused to divulge details about the propose Flipkart Online Gaming Championship.
