UCWeb, the makers of the popular UC Browser, has unveiled UC News in India. With content from over 20 featured channels which includes news, cricket, technology, entertainment, movies, and lifestyle, the platform aims to bring all the latest resources to the hand of users.
Commenting on the development, Alibaba Mobile Business Group (MBG) General Manager UCWeb Kenny Ye revealed that UC News tracks and matches the trending keywords on Facebook and Twitter and decides on the trending topics before recommending them to the user.
He further said that UC News, already available in China will be expanded to Indonesia and other Asian countries. The company is focused on developing brilliant content.
Ye, meanwhile, stated that Digital content consumption is on the rise and the challenge is how can we customize, curate and present diverse content to users.
According to company sources, the team strength in india will be double from existing 30 to 60 within the next few days. With 20% user base in India and about 80 million monthly active users, the company is witnessing a fast pace of adoption of its Internet browser with special focus on regional languages.
