Amazon unveiled a new version of Kindle, which is surprisingly lighter and thinner than the previous counterparts at Rs. 5999. Priced at $80, the new Kindle adds more memory and new features and will be shipped for July 7. However, customers can place pre-orders for the new device.
Despite the growth of tablets, Amazon is committed to the growth of e-rader market. Commenting on the development, Amazon revealed that unlike reflective tablet and smartphone screens, the high contrast touchscreen display on Kindle eliminates glare in any setting, even in direct sunlight.
According to recently released reports, evening exposure to blue light from backlit screens like tablets and smartphones can suppress the body’s production of melatonin, a naturally occurring hormone that helps the body fall asleep. However, the Kindle emits no light from the device, which enables you to read content without losing sleep.
With a 6-inch display, the new Kindle weighs 161 grams. Amazon has added a nw feature called “export notes”, which allows you to send notes and highlights from a book to e-mail, and Bluetooth audio paired with a screen reader that can allow the visually impaired to hear content without an adaptor.
Earlier, Amazon launched Kindle Oasis reader for $290 in United States.
