Nativ has unveiled its new Nativ Disc, a bit-perfect CD Ripper powered by Gracenote, which provides an ability for the users to import up to 12000 CDs into their Nativ Vita high-resolution music player. Touted as a true plug-and-play CD Ripper and priced at $499 for a limited period of time, Nativ Disc connects to Nativ Vita music player via USB.
Commenting on the launch of Nativ Disc, Michael Li, CEO and Co-Founder of Nativ revealed that although majority of people stream or download music, they do maintain huge CD collections at home. The main purpose of Nativ Disc is to provide a platform for the users to add their favorite CDs to their digital music library.
In partnership with Gracenote, customers will be able to access the world’s most extensive music database and innovative playlisting capabilities that deliver a more immersive experience and help them re-discover music like never before.
To import CDs into the Nativ Vita high-resolution music player, users simply need to insert the relevant CD into Nativ Disc, which will be automatically copied to the built-in hard disk drives in lossless FLAC, uncompressed WAV or lossy MP3 format. Nativ Disc repeatedly re-reads every CD to ensure a bit-perfect copy of the original performance.
In the mean time, Gracenote will automatically recognize imported CDs and deliver detailed album information and beautiful cover art for more than 200 million tracks to Vita’s stunning 11.6-inch touchscreen UI. With detailed information in the form of genre, origin, era, tempo and mood, Gracenote will also curate mood and activity-based playlists for Vita users.
Eventhough Nativ Disc is priced at $599, you will be able to pre-order it for $499 for a limited period of time during Nativ’s Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign. The package comes bundled with Oak desk stand.
