Sharp has launched its first ever Android One smartphone, the Aquos 507SH in Japan manufactured in collaboration with Google. As of this writing, we don’t have any pricing information. However, Shapr disclosed that the Aquos 507SH will be available for sale in Japan exclusively via Y!Mobile towards the end of July.
According to Google, the Sharp Aquos 507SH Android One phone ships with 18 months of guaranteed Android updates directly from the company.
On the specifications front, the Sharp Aquos 507SH features a 5-inch HD IGZO LCD 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protected display, Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB RAM paired with 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 200GB) loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Designed to be dust and water resistant, the Sharp Aquos 507SH comes with IPX8 certification with the ability to withstand inside water up to 1 metre depth. With support for fast charging, the Aquos 507SH offers a massive 3010mAh battery. However, the smartphone will not ship with a fast charger.
While the rear camera is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with FHD video recording, the front-facing snapper offers 5-megapixel sensor. Talking about the connectivity, the Aquos 507SH features 4G, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g /n, and Micro-USB. With a weight of 135 grams, the Sharp Aquos 507SH features a thickness of 8.8mm.
