Android 7.0 Nougat reveals source of APK file of apps

With the launch of Android 7.0 Nougat developer preview 5, the Android platform will display an applications installation source in the app info interface.

Located at the bottom, the new item is listed under the subheader Store. Populated by a string obtained through
getInstallerPackageName method, the field was previously accessible only via a manual query. The string can be filled either by a third party app store or left blank.

In real-world scenario, if you expose the string it will likely benefit customer support agents who are on a lookout to identify potential malicious app on the smartphone of customers. It is also possible to identify the main source from where the apps came from if you are making use of multiple stores or installation sources.
