Xiaomi is expected to launch Daydream VR headset in August. Recently, Xiaomi has been investing heavily in alternative smart devices such as smart rice cooker, air purifiers and Televisions.
Commenting on the development, Xiaomi’s general manager Tang Mu revealed tha the company is building its own VR headset to provide MIUI users with best possible VR experience. The new VR headset will take advantage of all he latest features of MIUI and its upcoming releases.
At the recently held Google’s I/O 2016 conference, Xiaomi announced a 4K enabled MI Box based on Android TV. However, the company had bigger ambitions.
With a new VR headset, Xiaomi will be able to take advantage of all the core features of the latest virtual reality technology. Moreover, it will benefit users who are shying away from adopting the platform.
Regarding pricing, the Daydream VR headset will be cheaper than other similar counterparts. Google will integrate Daydream into Android 7.0 Nougat to provide users with an immersive experience than other competing devices.
