Xiaomi has launched Redmi 3S+ in India with 4100mAh battery for Rs. 9499. However, this model is exclusively oriented for offline purpose. This means you will not find it on any of the e-commerce portals.
In a statement, Xiaomi India disclosed that Redmi 3S+ marks a significant milestone in the history of Mi India towards building a stronger offline retail presence. Redmi 3S+ will retail across more than 7,500 retailers beginning October 1.
The company also said that the Redmi 3S+ will be available from a wide range of offline retail shops such as Poorvika, Sangeetha, BIG C, and LOT Mobiles via its distributors – Redington, Innocomm and Just Buy Live.
Xiaomi entered Indian market in 2014 by establishing a strategic partnership with Flipkart. However, the company shifted the e-commerce selling rights to Amazon and Snapdeal to target huge number of customers.
On the specifications front, the Redmi 3S+ is equipped with 5-inch display, 1.4GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear, 5MP front camera coupled with 4100mAh battery. Interestingly, the Redmi 3S Prime also ships with the same battery capacity.
In the meantime, Xiaomi established partnerships with The Mobile Store and private telecom operator Bharti Airtel. The company also tied up with Redington to distribute the products across all retail stores in India.
With an approximate market share of 10 percent from offline channels, the company currently sells Redmi 2, Mi4, Redmi Note 3, Mi5 and Mi Max. The Mi Max is very popular among people in India because of its extra large display. According to sources, the company expects nearly 20 to 30 percent of sales fom offline channels by the end of Q1 2017.
