A Game of Thrones: Enhanced Edition

As part of the 20th anniversary of A Game of Thrones: Enhanced Edition publication, the book is available on iBooks. According to sources, the iBook format of the book promises a new world of additional content, which is not available elsewhere.

Responding to media, HarperCollins said that the iBooks version offers a whole lot of additional content. They also revealed that it ranges from interactive character maps to comprehensive annotations, character path, journeys and timelines, ancestral trees in addition to audio clips.

Commenting on the 20th anniversary of the first publication of A Game of Thrones, George RR Martin disclosed to a leading newspaper that a new special release of the book available on iTunes showcases an amazing next step in the world of books.

Extract from Winds of Winter included with A Game of Thrones iBook release

Released exclusively to iBooks, the special release of A Game of Thrones consists of an extract from the Winds of Winter. Martin, meanwhile, confirmed the presence of the supplementary material.

New phase in the publishing industry

Announcing the release of the iBooks edition, Martin said that they are now entering a new phase in the history of the publishing industry. Moreover, the digital release provides readers with the ability to experience all the rich supplementary content that had not been possible before.

In the meantime, the publisher disclosed that the enhanced release of the next set of four books in the series will be released from October 27 to March 2017. We don’t have any confirmation about the exact release date of The Winds of Winter. However, Martin said to media early 2016 that the book was not completed and the writing work is in progress.
