The iPhone 8 is expected to ship with dual camera dual OIS functionality coupled with a redesigned telephone lens. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will introduce a dual-camera setup to at least one of the rumored three iPhone 8 models. Kuo is also of the opinion that both camera modules will provide support for optical image stabilization.
Meanwhile, Apple is expected to redesign the telephoto lens, which is mainly used for the front-facing sensor. The Cupertino-based tech giant will infuse optical zoom emulation capabilities to improve the image quality.
In order to provide support for OIS on the telephoto lens, Apple will have to increase the image circle of the lens. This will ultimately lead to longer calibration time and a assembly processes, which turns out to be very complicated. Hence, the telephoto lens should be redesigned since the increased image circle will result in decreased image quality around the borders.
Previously, Kuo had reported that the Apple is gearing up to release three iPhone 8 models. You can expect a 5.1-inch or 5.2-inch model including a 5.5-inch variant of the iPhone 8. However, these phone will be equipped with LCD display.
You can also expect a large 5.7-inch or 6-inch iPhone 8 Plus with OLED display. This is because Apple wants to celebrate the 10th anniversary of iPhone in a grand way. Hence, you can expect several enhancements, new features and much more.
