Apple to offer free battery replacement for iPhone 6s that shut down unexpectedly

iPhone 6s

Apple has started to repair iPhone 6s handsets that shut down abnormally by replacing batteries. However, the number of customers facing this issue is comparatively less.

Although this is not a safety issue touted to cause panic, the battery needs to be replaced. For this purpose, you need to visit an Apple retail store or an authorized service provider. You should note that the iPhone6s will be critically examined to confirm that it requires a repair.

Moreover, only those iPhone6s which are manufactured between September and October 2015 are affected. Before proceeding to service center, you can call Apple and provide your serial number.

The support staff will cross check the serial number of your iPhone 6s and if it matches their record you will be eligible for a battery replacement.

Before handing over the iPhone 6s, you should backup data to iTunes or iCloud, turn off Find my iPhone and reset your phone. In a statement, Apple confirmed that if you had already paid for a replacement battery, you can contact Apple for a refund.

Recently,Apple had disclosed that it had discovered Touch disease issue with the iPhone 6 Plus
