Ever since iPhone 7 was released without a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack, there were rumors about its removal in the Samsung Galaxy S8. The latest report confirms this fact. According to Sam Mobile, the forthcoming Galaxy S8 premium flagship handset will not ship with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Instead of a 3.5mm headphone port, you will have to work with a USB Type-C port. Hence, you will have to make use of a USB-C to 3.5mm audio adapter to hear music via headphones. If the rumors are to be believed, you can expect the adapter inside the product package.
To recall, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 also shipped with a USB Type-C port. However, the handset faced severe problems including explosion. Unfortunately, Samsung was forced to recall the phone after 2 rounds.
Based on the available information, the elimination of 3.5mm headphone jack helps the company to integrate an enhanced battery. Moreover, the Galaxy S8 will look thinner than the currently available handset.
It is almost confirmed that Samsung Galaxy S8 will be showcased during the forthcoming MWC 2016. However, we have seen several rumors. The latest development is that the Galaxy S8 will ship with Harman stereo speakers.
