Alcatel has launched the much-awaited Alcatel Idol 4 with VR headset in Dark Grey, Metal Silver, and Gold colour variants at Rs. 16999. The smartphone will be exclusively available via Flipkart on November 8 starting 2 PM IST.

The main highlight of Alcatel Idol 4 is that the phone ships with a VR headset. This will enable you to have an immersive experience. You will find the headset inside the product box. Moreover, you will also get JBL earphones bundled with the smartphone.

The main feature of Alcatel Idol 4 is the addition of boom key. You will find this key on the right side of the handset. You will be able to access camera, gallery, videos, games and other compatible applications using the key.

On the specifications front, the Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone features a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS LTPS display, Snapdragon 617 processor, Adreno 405 graphics paired with 3GB RAM.

The Idol 4 ships with 16GB of internal storage, which can be extended upto 512GB. By default, the phone is loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. However, we don’t have any information as to whether the company provides an update to Android 7.0 Nougat in the near future.

Talking about the camera, the Alcatel Idol 4 handset features a 13MP rear camera with support for touch focus and dual-LED flash. On the front, you will find a 8MP sensor with LED flash. The smartphone ships with a real-time face beautification, which enables you to modify the captured selfie as per your requirements.

The downside of Alcatel Idol 4 is that the phone ships with only a 2610mAh battery. However, the handset provides support for fast charging via Quick Charge 2.0.

In addition to 4G LTE, the Alcatel Idol 4 provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, including a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. With a weight of 135 grams, the phone measures 7.1mm in thickness.
