Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will most probably jump to Android 7.1 Nougat in the next release of the update. As of writing this, the Samsung Galaxy Beta Program enables you to test drive Android 7.0 Nougat on the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones. However, in the next release, which will be of course final will be loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat.


If rumors are to be believed, you can expect to play with Android 7.1 Nougat when you update the phone within the next one month. If you look at LG V20 and Nexus handsets, it shipped with Android 7.0 Nougat.However, Google Pixel was launched with an improved version, which is Android 7.1 Nougat.

The latest Android update for the Galaxy S7 phones integrates few new functionalities, which included enhanced touch performance and Daydream VR support. We don’t have any confirmation as to whether the Gear VR provides support for Daydream. We expect the addition of support on the upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 edge.
