Coolpad launched the Cool 1 Dual in both 3GB and 4GB RAM variants at Rs. 13999 in association with LeEco. The first impression is that Coolpad might have borrowed software and display from LeEco. The company has added 13MP dual-camera sensors, which is a big attraction for a budget handset below Rs. 15000.
While the 3GB RAM offers 32GB internal storage, the 4GB RAM model offers 32GB storage. The 4GB RAM variant of Cool 1 Dual will be exclusively via Amazon India starting January 5. However, the 3GB RAM model will be available only via offline retail stores before the end of Q1 2017.
The newly launched Coolpad Cool 1 Dual will be available in in Silver and Gold colour variants. Even though specifications are same, the rear panel for the smartphone launched in India bears Coolpad and not Cool.
The main attraction of the Cool 1 Dual is the integrated dual rear camera mechanism with 13MP sensors paired with an f/2.0 aperture. Moreover, the camera also provides support for dual-tone LED flash. While one sensor has a capability to handle colour, the other sensor ensures vital parameters such as depth, detail, and brightness. On the front, you will find an 8MP sensor coupled with an f/2.2 aperture and an 80-degree wide-angle lens.
When it comes to power, the Coolpad Cool 1 Dual is equipped with a 4000mAh battery. Hence, you will be able to work with the handset for several hours. The handset also offers a mirror-surfaced fingerprint scanner on the rear side, which enables you to unlock the smartphone quickly.
Loaded with LeEco’s EUI 5.8 UI based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Coolpad Cool 1 Dual features a 5.5-inch FHD display with a pixel density of 403PPI. The panel offers a high brightness of 450 nits. During the launch event, the company sources revealed that the the display is capable of delivering 72 percent of the NTSC colour gamut.
Under the hood, the Coolpad Cool 1 Dual ships with a Snapdragon 652 processor, Adreno 510 graphics, 3GB/4GB RAM. In addition to 4G LTE, the handset also provides support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Infrared, GPS, A-GPS, USB Type-C port and traditional 3.5mm audio port. The phone also offers sensors such as accelerometer, magnetometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and three-axis gyroscope.
The specifications of the newly launched handset looks great but it remains to be seen as to how it performs in real life. Although camera sensors in LeEco handsets produces good images, they are not in part with Xiaomi.
