Samsung has started to push December security update to its Galaxy A5 (2016) handset. With firmware version XXS3BPLA, the latest update brings in all the required Android security patches for the month of December. However, you need not have to expect a massive refresh since the size of the latest security update is under 11MB.

As of this writing, the December security update for Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) has started to hit Europe. However, you can expect the arrival of the update in other markets within the upcoming days.

If you are located in Europe and have access to Galaxy A5 (2016) , then you will receive an OTA update within the next few days. If you haven’t received any update, then you need to show patience. Normally, the updates are rolled out in phased manner. In the mean time, you can manually verify for the existence of the update by tapping the Settings menu.
