Motorola rolls out Android 7.0 Nougat update for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus users in India

Motorola has started to roll out Android 7.0 update for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus users in India. The main attraction of the update is that it ships with November Android Security patch with new changes to performance, notifications and usability.

Previously, the company had announced the Android 7.0 update for Moto Z users in India and Moto Z Force users in the US. In October, Motorola had promised the availability of the Android 7.0 Nougat update by the end of 2016.

Eventhough Motorols had rolled out the update globally for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones, the company didn’t introduced the update in India. Hence, if you arer in India and make use of either Moto G4 or Moto G4 Plus, you need to verify for the update.

According to Motorola, the battery of the handset should be charged to 50 percent beofre proceeding to update. Moreover, the phone should be connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you are a user of Moto G4 and G4 Plus, you will receive a notification for the Android 7.0 Nougat update. You should click on the option “Yes, I’m in” to download the update. If you click Install now option, the update will be installed.

If you are unable to view the automated OTA update notification, you need to check for the update manually. Youcan do that by navigating to Settings | About Phone | System Updates. If there is any new update, you will view the details and can be able to install it.

Some of the other major Motorola smartphones expected to receive the Android Nougat are Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Play, Droid Turbo 2, Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z Play Droid and Nexus 6.
