Within four months after the release of iOS 10-powered iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple has released the adoption figures of iOS. According to a new report released by the iPhone 7 manufacturer, nearly 76 percent of iOS devices are powered by the latest version 10.
The sharp increase in the numbers indicates an increase of 13 percent when compared to the data released in November 2016. However, in October 2016 the adoption rate was pegged at 60 percent.
Talking about other iOS versions, the iOS 9 has a market share of 18 percent. However, the previous iOS versions garner only 6% share worldwide. Based on the data, you can infer that majority of the Apple phones are powered by the latest iOS 10.
Despite releasing iOS 10, the Cupertino-based company has been regularly releasing new iterations with updates and bug fixes. Recently, the company rolled out iOS 10.2 with the addition of 100 new emoji including a wide range of wallpapers and iMessage screen effects. Furthermore, the iOS 10.2 also added a new TV app, an emergency SOS feature, Music and camera apps.
Apple used to get thousands of bug reports every day. Hence, you can expect more updates going forward until the release of iOS 11 in September 2017. The upcoming iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will most probably ship with iOS 11.
