Since the overwhelming response to Kodak’s Super 8 Revival launched a year ago, Kodak has been working to develop a camera and film processing ecosystem to match the excitement.
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017, if you visit The Kodak Studios – located at LVCC South Hall 1, Booth# 20619 – can see functioning prototype models of the new Limited Edition KODAK Super 8 camera in action. You can view live test footage, which demonstrates the camera’s ability to capture 8mm images with incredible quality.
Over the past few months, engineers have been working, filmmakers have been testing, and the camera is on its way. In addition to the Limited Edition Super 8 camera, the company is developing a range of cameras to suit all types of users at various price points.
Commenting on the launch, Brian Cruz, VP and GM, Consumer Products, Kodak revealed that the company has listened to the community of directors, cinematographers and amateurs passionate about film. We are working hard to ensure the camera is worthy of the Kodak name. It is important to do this right, and we are very excited to be on track to perfect our vision, adds Cruz.
During the CES 2017 event, Kodak disclosed that the Limited Edition Super 8 camera would be available in Spring 2017, with consumer versions to follow.
