Samsung is scheduled to launch Gear S3 classic and Gear S3 frontier smartwatches on January 10. The company has sent media invites for the launch event with the conventional Samsung logo on the top. Interestingly, the time of the launch is 6 PM, which is pretty unusual for a launch event. In the recent past, Asus had launched Zenfone 3 at 4 PM.
Specifically, the invite states that the company is inviting you to celebrate timeless style in an innovative, personal and eternal fashion. Moreover, it states that you will experience a new world when you work with the new gadget.
The main highlight of the Samsung Gear S3 is the addition of IP68 technology with support for dust and water resistance. Moreover, the smartwatch also includes NFC, integrated speaker, and GPS. You will be able to enable voice messaging and listen to music via the speaker.
Talking about the specifications, the Samsung Gear S3 features a 1.3-inch Circular Super AMOLED Always On display with 360×360 pixels at a pixel density of 278PPI. The Gear S3 is equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor, 768MB RAM, 4GB internal storage loaded with Tizen 2.3.2, which is a wearable platform.
If you look at Samsung Gear S3 frontier, it will ship with support for 3G and 4G LTE including support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, MST, A-GPS, and Glonass. Furthermore, the Gear S3 also offers accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate, ambient light, and barometer.
Powered by a 380mAh battery, the Gear S3 ships with wireless charging support with 4 days of battery life. We don’t have any information about the price of the smartwatch. However, we will know all the details on January 10. We will bring all the latest news and reviews to your desktop.
