Gionee has officially launched Steel 2 smartphone with a 4000mAh battery in Jazz Gold and Gold Black color variants at $190. Gionee has been manufacturing a wide range of smartphones in the recent past and Steel 2 forms part of the unique club. The main highlight of Gionee Steel 2 is the addition of a 4000mAh battery, which is capable of delivering a battery life of over three days.
On the specifications segment, the Gionee Steel 2 features a 5-inch HD display, MediaTek MT6737 processor, 3GB RAM loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The handset is available in both 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants.
On the optics front, the Gionee Steel 2 is equipped with an 8MP rear camera alongside a 5MP front-facing shooter. The phone gets the required power from the integrated 4000mAh battery.
With a weight of 160 grams (which is quite high for a 5-inch smartphone), the Gionee Steel 2 is loaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Moreover, you will work with Amigo 3.5 UI. The handset also ships with an integrated fingerprint scanner embedded in the physical home button.
Gionee has announced the pricing for the 16GB variant of Steel 2, which is currently fixed at RMB 1299, which equates to $190. As of this writing, you can pre-order the phone in China. We don’t have any information about the estimated launch date in other markets.
