Samsung Galaxy S7 expected to receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat update on January 17

Samsung is expected to roll out Android Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 on January 17. According to sources, the Samsung Galaxy S7 (European model) is expected to receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat by the third week of January. Meanwhile, The Android Soul has revealed that the new upgrade will be tagged with model number SM-G935F.

Recently, Samsung had disclosed that the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge would most be directly upgraded to Android 7.1.1 Nougat instead of Android 7.0. If the Galaxy S7 gets the update on January 17, then you can expect an update for Galaxy S7 Edge within the next few days.

To recall, Samsung had launched Galaxy Beta Program, which enables the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge users to test drive Android 7.1 Nougat on their respective phones. Currently, Android 7.1.1 Nougat is in the beta stage after coming out of the developer preview.

In the meantime, Google had officially launched Android 7.1.1 update for the Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9, Pixel tablet, Nexus Player and Android One handsets.

The main attraction of Android 7.1.1 Nougat is the integration of app shortcuts, camera app, emojis, reset button, smart storage, support tab including moves menu. An impressive feature of Android 7.1.1 Nougat is the availability of emoji collection in both genders. Moreover, Android 7.1.1 has introduced App shortcuts to phones such as Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6.

If you look at Smart Storage, it automatically removed old images and videos from your phone to save valuable disk space. The refreshed camera app embedded with the Android 7.1.1 platform provides support for automatic exposure, Viewfinder grid modes, AE/FE locking including Smart Burst. You will also find an image keyboard, which enables you to pick and send stickers, emojis, GIFs from within the messaging app such as WhatsApp and Telegram.
