If rumors are to be believed, Reliance Jio services will continue to be free even after March 31. According to unconfirmed reports, the service will be free for another three months starting April 1 until June 30. Previously, it was reported that the Reliance Jio Happy New Year offer will end on March 31.
As per the new offer, you will be able to avail voice services for free. Hence, you will be able to make calls and send SMS free of cost. However, for high-speed data services you need to pay Rs. 100 extra. Since we don’t have any confirmation from the company, you should accept this only with a pinch of salt.
When Reliance Jio introduced its 4G services, the company said that it will be free until December 31, 2016. However, the company extended the services in the name of Happy NewYear offer.
With existing mobile service providers such as Airtel, Vodafone complaining against the bad tactics of Reliance Jio, TRAI have issued a notice recently. However, we don’t have any confirmation about what happened to the notice.
Technically, Reliance Jio cannot provide free service beyond March 31 due to strict rules laid down by TRAI. Hence, the company is opting for a tactical approach by offering low cost for its data plans. If a customer is paying money to avail 4G data, then competitors don’t have any right to complain.
Reliance Jio has not yet confirmed the extension of free services beyond March 31.
