Honor 6X, the much-awaited smartphone with a dual-camera on the rear has been launched with Kirin 655 processor and SOS button at Rs. 12999. Moreover, the handset has been localized for 14 Indian languages. Announced during the recently concluded CES 2017, the Honor 6X has been released with 3GB RAM coupled with 32GB internal storage. The company also announced the availability of a 4GB RAM model with 64GB storage at Rs. 15999 from February.
The highlight of the Honor 6X is the addition of an SOS button. You will be able to make use of the new feature as an emergency alarm. The SOS functionality works by not only delivering an SMS to pre-defined numbers but also provide location-centric information.
During the launch event, Honor head Zhai revealed that the newly launched handset is exclusively designed to cater to the requirements of youths. Moreover, the handset provides premium features in the budget category. You will not find a dual camera under Rs. 13000.
Talking about the specifications, the Honor 6X features a 5.5-inch FHD 2.5D glass display coupled with a full metal slim body and curved panel on the rear. The company said that the phone will be manufactured under the Make in India initiative from February 2017.
Showcasing the new Honor 6X, Befikre fame Vaani Kapoor praised the company for including the SOS button since it will help Women whose life is in danger.
Honor 6X is equipped with a 12MP rear camera sensor, which captures the image. However, the handset also includes a 2MP additional rear camera sensor, which mainly fetches depth of field information. The newly launched phone also provides an ability to capture professional-looking background blur. This will enable the objects you are focussing on to stand out. Integrated with PDAF technology, the Honor 6X enables you to capture stunning images with an ultra-fast camera focus speed of 0.3 seconds.
If you look at the internals, the Honor 6X bears a Kirin 655 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage powered by a 3340mAh battery. The phone provides power saving features because the processor has been manufactured using 16nm process. Regarding backup, the Honor 6X delivers 3 days backup on normal usage. In case if you use the phone heavily such as gaming, you will get 2 days of backup.
In addition to English, the Honor 6X provides support for 14 local languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Telegu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Assamese, Maithili and Nepali.
The Honor 6X with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage will be available for purchase on Amazon India via flash sale on February 2. However, you will have to register to buy the phone. If you would like to buy the 4GB RAM model, you need to wait till February since the company will launch the phone around the middle of next month. We expect the launch of a new Pink color variant of Honor 6X around February 14 to celebrate Valentine’s day.
