T-Mobile has started to roll out January security update to LG G4 handsets on its network. Hence, if you are using LG G4 with T-Mobile, you should verify for the update and install for security purposes. With software version H81120r, the latest round of update provides Android security fixes for the month of January.
If you believe you will be getting Android Nougat update, then you are wrong. The update is based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. If you would like to test drive Android Nougat, you will have to wait for few more months.
You will only get the latest security patch after the installation of the update. T-Mobile hasn’t included any other features and improvements. With a weight of 90MB, you will have to activate Wi-Fi before starting the download process.
The January security update is being introduced via OTA. Hence, it will take some time for your handset to receive update notification based on the region. If you are unable to resist, you can manually verify for the presence of the update by tapping on the Settings icon.
