Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime and Galaxy Grand Neo gets better with January security patch

Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime

Samsung has started to roll out January security update for the Galaxy J2 Prime and Galaxy Grand Neo smartphones. While the Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime bears the software version as G532GDXU1AQA4, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo also called as Galaxy Gand Lite comes with the version number I9060CUBS0AQA1.

You should note that the Galaxy J2 Prime is based on Android Marshmallow and Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite is still running on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat. We wonder why Samsung is still infusing Android Kitkat when the technology has advanced deeply to Android Nougat.

If you install the update, you will get access to Android security patches for the month of January 2017. Technically, the update only provides security update and there are no visible improvements or enhancements.

Like all other previously released OTA updates, it will take some time for your handset to receive the required update notification. You will view a popup message prompting you to install the update. If you are unable to view the message, then you will have to wait. Alternatively, you can verify for the update by tapping the Settings menu.
