Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung Galaxy S8 likely to skip MWC 2017 and will offer an unusual display aspect ratio

Even though you need not have to expect the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 during the upcoming MWC 2017, the fresh leaks emerging from the rumor mills suggest the fact that the phone will offer an unusual screen resolution.

According to an unidentified Chinese tipster, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a resolution of 1440×2960 pixels. Technically, the aspect ratio will be 18.5:9, which is rather unusual for a handset. In all probability, the rumored Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be equipped with 5.8-inch and a 6.2-inch display.

Interestingly, The Android Soul points out that the LG G6 will feature a 5.7-inch display with an aspect ratio of 2:1. Based on previous leaks, the Galaxy S8 will not ship with a physical home button. Moreover, the fingerprint scanner will be most likely integrated on the rear alongside the camera. Unlike previous Samsung handsets, the log will be placed on the rear of the phone.

While the rear camera will sport a 12MP sensor, the front-facing snapper offers an 8MP camera sensor. If the rumors are to be believed, you can expect the integration of Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM in addition to 64GB internal storage. You can also expect the addition of a personal digital assistant named Bixby.

Regarding the release date, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will launch on March 29 at an unpacked event in New York. However, you will be able to buy the handsets only from April 21. Cost wise, there will be an increase of EUR 100 than the previous counterpart.
