Within days after the official launch of Redmi Note 4, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 was spotted on US FCC with a 4000mAh battery. With the news regarding the upcoming Redmi Note 5 has started to emerge, industry analysts are of the opinion that the handset will be launched within the next few months.
Talking about specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protected display alongside Snapdragon 652 processor. The rumored pixel density of 401PPI will work out great for reading purposes.
Talking about the internals the handset will offer 4GB RAM coupled with both 32GB and 64GB internal storage. However, there are unconfirmed reports that Xiaomi will unveil the smartphone integrated with Helio x25 processor. However, the Helio variant will be limited to select markets. In India, we can expect the availability of Snapdragon processor.
Sometimes, Xiaomi will launch Helio variant of Redmi Note 5 in India as done by LeEco in Le 1s Eco. That said, the chances Are slim because Le 2 was launched with Snapdragon processor due to various complaints of overheating.
The rear camera will bear a 16MP sensor, while the front-facing shooter will be equipped with an 8MP sensor. A 4000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 will provide adequate power for the handset.
The main highlight of Redmi Note 5 is the addition of Android 7.1 Nougat on top of MIUI 9. However, you have to wait for some more time since Xiaomi has not officially started the beta launch of MIUI 9.
The phone will provide support for 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS including USB Type-C port. Moreover, the upcoming handset will ship with an enhanced fingerprint sensor.
Talking about the price, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be available between $175 and $200 for the 32GB storage variant. For the 64GB model, you will have to pay between $200 to $250. Since there is no official confirmation, you have to accept this fact only with a pinch of salt.
Expected to be available in Gold, Silver, and Black variants, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be available in China around Q2 2017 with expected availability in other markets by the end of 2017. Like in the case of Redmi Note 4, you can expect the launch of Redmi Note 5 in India around January 2018.
