BSNL slashes 3G mobile rates with 1GB at Rs 36

To combat heavy competition from Reliance Jio, the state-owned BSNL has slashed the 3G mobile rates by 25 percent. As part of the revised offer, you can buy 1GB of 3G mobile data for Rs. 36. Hence, you can be able to avail 4 times data when compared to the existing tariff of Rs. 291.

In case if you plan to opt for Rs. 291 package, you will be able to enjoy 8GB of 3G mobile data for 28 days. Previously, the same package provided 2GB of data. You can buy 2GB data for Rs. 78.

According to BSNL sources, the new rates will come into effect across India from February 6. With 9.95 million customers, BSNL is India’s top Broadband service provider. When it comes to mobile broadband, BSNL has been placed on the fifth spot with an overall count of 20.39 million users.

To recall, Reliance Jio has been offering free voice and 4G LTE data free of cost as part of the Happy New Year offer until March 31. According to rumors, the company is planning to offer free 4G package from April 1 at Rs. 100 for three months. However, voice calls and messages will be available free of cost.
