Just days ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017), Huawei is reportedly gearing up to launch Honor 8 Youth Edition and Honor V9 on February 21. In addition to the previously reported Honor V9, the teaser posted on Huawei’s Weibo account reveals the fact that Honor 8 Youth Edition will also launch on February 21 in China.

The teaser showcases China youth icon ‘Wu Yi Fan’, who is a Chinese-born Canadian actor, singer, and model. He recently made his Hollywood debut in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. To recall, the Honor 8 Youth Edition smartphone is in fact Honor 8 Lite, which was launched in Finland at 269 Euro.

On the specifications front, the Honor 8 Youth Edition features a 5.2-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, Kirin 655 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB expandable internal storage (max 128GB) loaded with EMUI 5.0 on top of Android 7.0 Nougat. Equipped with a fingerprint sensor on the rear, the Honor 8 Youth Edition ships with a 3000mAh battery.

While the rear camera provides 12MP sensor alongside f/2.2 aperture and LED Flash, the front-facing shooter will offer an 8MP sensor with a 77-degree angle of view. In addition to 4G LTE, the upcoming handset also provides support for WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS and AGPS.

Honor V9 specifications

Under the hood, the Honor V9 will feature a 5.7-inch QHD display, Kirin 960 processor, Mali M71 graphics, 4GB/7GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. The rear camera houses a dual 12MP and 2MP sensors alongside an 8MP front-facing snapper. Powered by a 4000mAh battery, you will also find a fingerprint sensor on the rear. The phone has expected to be available at a price of Yuan 2699.

We expect the launch of Honor 8 Youth Edition and Honor V9 in India within one month after the official launch in China. The Honor V9 will have to compete with the likes of LeEco Le 2 and Lenovo-branded smartphones.
