Huawei is scheduled to conduct a press event ahead of the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 26. According to reports, the company will unveil the flagship Huawei P10 and P10 Plus alongside EMUI 5.1 based on Android Nougat. We also have credible information that the company is also gearing up to launch a smartwatch.

Huawei, on its official Weibo page, has posted a teaser to reveal the important features of the upcoming smartphone. If you carefully verify the teaser, you will be able to know that a new software version will be unveiled during the event. We can see “5” but “1” is covered with a shiny towel. The image also specifies the date of the event along with few Chinese content.

EMUI 5.1

Based on the available data, we can confirm the launch of EMUI 5.1 on top of Android Nougat, which will replace the currently available EMUI 5.0 version. We don’t have any information about the expected features included with the upcoming EMUI 5.1. However, we expect significant improvement, bug fixes, and other related features.

Huawei P10 and P10 Plus will be the first smartphone to ship with EMUI 5.1. We also expect an OTA rollout before the end of March 31 for the currently available Huawei P9 and P9 Plus.
