Just when the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco is slowing erasing from the minds of the gadgets enthusiasts, the iPhone 7 Plus has caught fire. Bree aka @briannaolivas_ took to Twitter and shared a video, which showcases the huge amount of smoke coming out through the side corners of the handset. As of this writing, the video has been retweeted 30,379 times and liked by around 32493 users.
It seems that the user quickly noticed the fire and recorded the video. The left side of the phone has been ripped apart due to the impact the explosion. Moreover, the rear portion also damaged considerably. Even though the display seems to be intact, Bree cannot make use of the iPhone 7 Plus. A possible replacement is the only solution for the problem.

According to Bree, the iPhone 7 Plus exploded on the February 23 morning. She said that the phone was not charging at the time of the incident. Moreover, the handset was not under use. If the video posted on Twitter is to be believed, the display has been switched off.
Bree noticed smoke from the phone and within seconds the metal shell burst with heavy and thick smoke. We infer that smoke should be followed by nasty smell as well. According to reports, there could be a problem with the battery. It could have inflamed causing fire and ultimate breaking of the valuable handset. Although the iPhone 7 Plus got damaged, nobody inside his house has been hurt. Furthermore, there are no damages to any property.
It remains to be seen as to whether Bree could manage to backup data from his damaged iPhone 7 Plus. We are sure that he will not be able to make use of the handset since it has bene damaged beyond repair.
Apple has established contact with Bree and has escalated the incident for deeper investigation. We are yet to come out from the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, which happened in 2016. After the release of the iPhone 7 Plus, there have been reports of explosion and fire. However, the magnitude of damages is very less when compared to Galaxy Note 7.
In the above case, the Cupertino-based giant most likely would provide a free replacement but the problem doesn’t end there. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are vulnerable and will cause similar damages in future as well. If a phone has exploded, then you can conclude that the same handset is prone to more explosion and fire. Hence, you should make use of the iPhone 7 Plus very carefully if you had purchased it.
