Xiaomi is scheduled to unveil in-house developed Pinecone processor at an event on February 28. The launch event will start at 2 PM China Time or 11.30 AM IST at Beijing National Convention Center. Well ahead of the official launch, the Chinese-based company has released a teaser video featuring Wang Feng, who is a winner of the World Memory Championships. The video showcases the ability of Feng to memorize several sets of numbers.

If you watch the Xiaomi Pinecone processor trailer, you will visualize that Feng has conducted an incredible and excellent memory challenge. He managed to quickly memorize all the numbers which appeared on display by the same order.
Towards the end, Feng completed the whole challenge by scribbling all the numbers correctly in the same order. You will be able to view two large displays, which appear alongside with up to 100 numbers in front of him.
Talking about the specifications, the Xiaomi Pinecone processor, expected to be dubbed as V670 will feature an octa-core processor. It will have four high-frequency Cortex-A53 cores coupled with four Cortex-A53 low-powered cores. Moreover, the Pinecone V670 processor will be manufactured based on a 28nm manufacturing process. The processor will be equipped with an ARM Mali-T860 MP2 graphics processor.
We wonder how the heat dispersion of the processor will be because the 28nm processor will generate more heat. It will be similar to that of the AMD processors for laptops and desktops.
In addition to Pinecone V670 processor, the Xiaomi is reportedly working on a premium Pinecone V790 processor. However, the flagship variant will be launched by the end of 2017. Furthermore, the smartphone giant is also working in close partnership with Samsung for the development of Pinecone V970 processor based on a 10nm manufacturing process. Based on the rumors, the Pinecone processor will be integrated with Mi 5c smartphone.
As of this writing, we don’t have any information as to whether the company will live stream the proceedings of the launch event. To recall, Xiaomi will not participate in the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017) trade show.
