LG desktop-centric VR headset will have Valve flavor

LG is working in close partnership with Valve to launch a desktop-centric VR headset. According to reports coming in, the South Korean-technology giant will release a brand new headset based on Valve VR platform before the end of this week. Hence, you can expect a launch at the ongoing GDC 2017 in San Francisco.

We don’t have any information about the specifications and features of the rumored headset. However, we can infer that the headset is designed to deliver a high premium fidelity next generation VR experience. If rumors are true, a prototype of the VR headset will be unveiled at the GDC. The company will reveal the estimated launch date and price by the end of Q2 2017.

The upcoming LG VR headset will mainly target the desktop and ships with the same motion tracking system as the HTC Vive. To recall, the previously released mobile VR headset by LG wasn’t impressive.
