Sony Xperia XZ Premium bags best new smartphone award at MWC 2017

Sony Xperia XZ Premium has grabbed the best new smartphone award at MWC 2017. Sony has unveiled four new smartphones such as Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1 and Xperia XA1 Ultra at the trade show.

On the specifications front, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium features a 5.46-inch 4K display, Snapdragon 835 processor, a 19MP rear camera with 1/2.3-inch sensor alongside motion eye technology for capturing slow motion videos in 960 fps. The phone features a luminous chromium body.

To recall, Samsung has bagged the best smartphone award at MWC 2016. At the recently concluded event, Sony has won the best new smartphone award for the latest Xperia XZ Premium.

Some of the other winners at MWC 2017 are as follows

  • Amazon Echo with “Disruptive Device Innovation” award
  • Judge’s Choice Mobile App for Pokemon
  • Best Mobile Innovation for Emerging Markets Partnership Award for Reliance Jio and Samsung

The MWC event is being organized by the GSMA, which is a pan-European organization. As part of the MWC event, the agency will give awards to the best technology companies and products which stand out from the crowd. At MWC 2017, the GSMA body awarded statuettes to over 40 winners.
