In India, the emergence of mobile payment platforms such as PayTm, FreeCharge, and MobiKwik are fast becoming popular due to a big push by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a result of Demonetisation.
After November 8, the market share of mobile payment services increased to nearly 200 percent since many business establishments have started to make use of them as an alternate payment method for a cashless world.
