Samsung Galaxy Note 8 gets a new model number and codename, says reports

With only a few days left for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, there is a huge buzz around the upcoming Galaxy Note 8. According to SamMobile, Samsung is expected to give a codename “Great” for the probable Note 7 successor with a new model number.

With model number SM-N950F, the Galaxy Note 8 will be released as an international unlocked variant. Hence, you will be able to work with the phone anywhere in the world using any mobile carrier. There are reports that company will most likely name the model numbers of the S8 series depending on the markets and carrier.

Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that the company is scheduled to launch refurbished models of the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 codenamed as Grace R. The device will have a model number of SM-N935. Based on the rumors, the battery of the Note 7 will be replaced by incorporating latest technologies.

The specifications of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are already out and leaked by the popular tipster Evan Blass. With premium specifications, the handset will integrate Iris scanner and a fingerprint scanner on the rear. The handset will launch on March 29 followed by starting of pre-orders from April middle. The company will start shipment of the new handsets after April 20.

It remains to be seen how Samsung is going to tackle the anger of customers after the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. Will the company infuse brand new battery which is safe for public consumption? Let’s wait and watch.
