Verizon pushes March security update to Google Pixel and Pixel XL

Verizon has started to roll out March security update to the flagship Google Pixel and Pixel XL. If you are using any one of these smartphones on Verizon network, you will be able to receive the updates. With build number NOF27B, the newly released update brings in Android security fixes in addition to few minor features and improvements for March 2017.

Nowadays, manufacturers and mobile service providers are pushing updates month-wise instead of once in five months. This will help users to download the bits quickly. Moreover, your handset will stay protected from harmful viruses.

In addition to the bug fixes, the latest update released by Verizon for Google Pixel and Pixel XL also features improvements related to Bluetooth. According to Verizon, the update offers increased reliability of sending and receiving calls with the Honda Bluetooth Carkit. The official update page also states that the update includes latest Android security patches. However, the company hasn’t revealed any details about the included patches.

If your device is eligible, you will view a message notification via OTA prompting you to install the update. You should establish connectivity with a Wi-Fi network because of the size of the download file. It is also possible to install the update via a powerful Verizon Wireless network connection. Moreover, you should completely charge the battery before proceeding to install the update.

If you are unable to view the OTA message notification, you can manually verify the presence of the update by tapping the Settings option.
