Sony rolls out X-Reality for video update alongside March security update

Sony has released a new update to select Xperia X handsets with support for X-Reality. With version number 38.3.1.A.0.54 and build number N4F26013, the update dubbed as part of the Concept for Android will introduce X-Reality for video including security updates for the month of March 2017. When other smartphone companies are still not yet rolled out February update, Sony has gone one step ahead with the March update earlier than expected.

To verify whether the new update has been available after the upgrade, you need to select the Image enhancement option. You will find three options such as Off, X-Reality for mobile and Super-vivid mode.

In addition to X-Reality for mobile, the latest update also provides support for VoLTE. Moreover, the update also includes enhancements to adaptive brightness. It also provides a bug fix where the low battery mode is automatically used wrongly after the reboot. As mentioned, the update also includes security bug fixes for the month of March.

As you see from the above image, the update screenshot clearly shows the date as March 1. Moreover, the update is made available for Sony Xperia handset with model number F5121.

Like in all the previous updates, you will be able to receive a message notification when the update is available. It will take few hours for the update to reflect on the phone. However, if you don’t have patience, you can manually verify the existence of the update by tapping the Settings icon. You should also make sure to charge the handset to full capacity before downloading the update.
