Rogers will roll out Android Nougat update for the flagship Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge from March 20. If you are on the Canadian network and use either Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, you will receive an update notification on March 20.
The mobile service provider has updated the OS Upgrade Schedule on the official community forum under the heading “What’s In The Pipe At Rogers?”. As per the information, the Android 7.0 Nougat update will be pushed starting March 20 with the current version listed as Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
In the details column, the provider has only mentioned Nougat. Hence, you will be able to experience the core features of Android Nougat after the successful installation of the update.
Like in all the previous updates, it will take few days after March 20 for the update to get reflected on your handsets depending upon your location. You will automatically view an update notification when Rogers introduces the update via OTA. Alternatively, you can also manually verify the existence of the update by tapping the Settings icon.
In addition to Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, Rogers will also release Android 7.1.1 Nougat update consisting of VoLTE support and security updates to Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
Furthermore, Huawei Nova Plus will also receive Android 7.0 Nougat update. However, the exact date is not specified and is tagged as Coming Soon. Rogers will also push security updates and bug fixes to Samsung Galaxy Core LTE running Android 5.0 Lollipop.
