Optus Australia pushes March security update to select Samsung Galaxy series smartphones

Optus is gearing up to roll out March security update for the Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung S6 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S3 including Galaxy S5 smartphones in Australia. Hence, if you are located in the Australia and use any one of the select Samsung Galaxy smartphones, you will receive the update before the end of March.

As of writing this, we don’t have any official confirmation about the exact date of the release. However, the update is currently under testing phase and will be pushed to the smartphones within the next few days.

March security update

You should note that the update will be related to security issues. The upcoming update will not include any features and enhancements. If you install the March security update, your smartphone will be protected against all the latest security attacks and malware.

Like all other updates, the forthcoming security update will be rolled out via OTA. Hence, you will be able to view a message notification via OTA if you work with any one of the eligible Samsung Galaxy smartphones. Optus will roll out the update in a phased manner. It will take some time for the update to appear on the display. Alternatively, you can manually verify the existence of the update by tapping the Settings icon.
