Samsung has rolled out Android Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge for users based in Canada. As of writing this, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users on Sasktel, Koodo, Telus, Virgin, Rogers, and Bell have revealed that their handsets have started to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update.
While the update for the Galaxy S7 is tagged with build number G930W8VLU2BQB6, the Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone bears a build number G935W8VLU2BQB6. In addition to Android Nougat, the Android Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 phone ships with bug fixes and system-related enhancements.
The update is being rolled out in a phased manner. Hence, it will take few days for it to reflect on your smartphone. If the update is available, you will view a message notification. Otherwise, you will have to wait for some time. Alternatively, you can verify the presence of the update manually by navigating to Settings | About device | System updates.
The important point to note is that you have to charge the smartphone either entirely or up to 50 percent. Moreover, you should establish connectivity with Wi-Fi and disable mobile data.
