OnePlus has rolled out OxygenOS 3.5.8 incremental update for the flagship OnePlus 2 smartphone. If you install the update, you will be eligible to get March security patch in addition to several bug fixes and other performance enhancements. You will be able to experience improved usage of the User Interface when compared with the previous counterpart.
The latest OxygenOS 3.5.8 update provides March Android security patch as of March 1. The update has fixed the echo issue which occurred during video calls in Duo app. Moreover, the company has resolved the persistent network drop connectivity issues including resolving problems related to data roaming in select countries. The update has improved the compatibility of the audio quality including the addition of general bug fixes.
According to the company sources, the latest OxygenOS 3.5.8 update is pushed via OTA in an incremental mechanism. Hence, only aa select group of customers will receive the update initially. The company will then push the OTA update to other customers gradually.
The concept is that the number of customers who receive each subsequent updates will be gradually increased in a phased manner. That said, only 50 to 100 customers are expected to receive the OxygenOS 3.5.8 update.
If you have access to OnePlus 2 smartphone and if the company picks your phone for the update, you will receive a notification message prompting you to download the update. If you don’t have patience, you can manually verify the presence of the update by tapping Settings | About | Software Update option.
If you see an update notification, you should download the file immediately. Instead, you should make sure to charge the OnePlus 2 to the full 100% capacity. Moreover, you should copy all the important data from your phone to your computer for safety purposes. Furthermore, you should disable access to mobile data and enable Wi-Fi before proceeding to download the OxygenOS 3.5.8 update.
