Samsung has started to roll out March security update for the Galaxy Core Prime and Galaxy J1 Mini smartphones. Hence, if you work with any of these two handsets, you will be eligible to receive an update via OTA, which will have relevant security and bug fixes.
With build number J105YDVU0AQC1, the latest update includes monthly security patch for the Galaxy J1 Mini smartphone in addition to performance improvements and bug fixes. Meanwhile, an update tagged with build number G361HXXU0AQC1 has started to roll out for the Galaxy Core Prime smartphone. The update includes security patch and device optimizations.
You need to install the monthly security update if you would like to keep your phone free from unwanted viruses and malware. Nowadays, hackers steal personal data from handsets, and the installation of the March security update provides the much-needed protection.
Like all other previous updates, Samsung is rolling out in phases. Hence, it will take few days for the update to hit your smartphone depending upon the region. If you are unable to view a message notification, you can manually verify the presence of the update by navigating to Settings | About device | System updates.
If the March security update is available, then you will view a notification. However, you should not proceed to install the update. Firstly, you need to free up 1GB of disk space. Moreover, you should establish connectivity with WiFi and charge the phone to the maximum capacity for trouble free installation.
