Motorola has started to roll out February security update for the Moto Z smartphone in the US. With build number NPLS25.86-17-3-1, the update is pushed via OTA. Hence, it will take few days for the update to reflect on your handset depending upon your location. However, we wonder why Motorola has introduced the February update in April.
Tagged with Android 7.0 Nougat, the Android security patch level is dated February 1. The update has been given the baseband version M8996_1239.53.01.126R SRS coupled with the Kernel version 3.18.31-perf-g9de2d75 alongside hudsoncm@ilclbld71 #1 as sub Kernel entry.
If you work with Moto Z handset or have access to the phone, you should check for the presence of an update message notification. You have to download the update as per the instructions provided.
However, if you are unable to view a notification, you will have to wait for few more days. You can also manually verify for the update by tapping Settings | About device | System updates option. You should establish connectivity with WiFi and charge the handset up to 70 percent for a smooth installation.
To recall, Moto Z received Android 7.0 Nougat update in December. We expect the arrival of Android 7.1.1 Nougat with the next few days. We will keep track of the developments and provide updates. Stay tuned with NetAns.
